Fortinet moves beyond on end-to-end IT security solution in 2011

Fortinet announced the 2010 performance as another record year for Fortinet with $375 million billings in 2010
(representing +33% YoY growth). The company grows faster than market (21.5% versus 4.7% market growth of global
network security market appliances for Q1-Q3'10 vs Q1-Q3'09*) with more than 100,000 customers and 5,000+ channel
partners over the world.
Fortinet is recognized by well-known industry analysts such as awarded by Frost & Sullivan as APAC Network Security
Vendor of the Year 2010, Network Security Special Award (FG-3950B) by Interop Japan, by Computerworld as Product
of the Year (FG-1240B), by Gartner as Leader of UTM Magic Quadrant, by Information Security as Best UTM solution
and by Network World as Network Security Vendor of the Year.
Fortinet grows faster than the security solution market. Fortinet grows at +21.5% whilst the worldwide market growth is
+4.7%. Likewise, Fortinet grows +25.4% in APAC whereas the regional growth rate is 19.7%.
IT security market trend continues the consolidation of "point" solutions & vendors. More security features in UTM
solutions including DLP, WAN Acceleration, Application Control, and VoIP. In addition, more bandwidth-intensive
apps will require higher performance then more security features move to efficient ASICs platform. Therefore, we move
beyond into end-to-end security solution, offering a complete portfolio, including network security, wireless security,
application security, data security, host security, management as well as security services.
Peerapong Jongvibool, Thailand Country Manager, Fortinet said "The company delivers complete content protection
for today's evolving networks. Over the last 10 to 15 years, threats have transformed from connection-based to content-
based. Traditional security technologies have not kept up with this evolution and are no longer able to differentiate
malicious and legitimate content. Threats can enter the organization's network from common applications like email and
web browsers as well as the latest social networking tools. Today's threats require complete content protection, which is
more than simply identifying applications and allowing or denying the traffic. It is the application control coupled with
identity-based policy enforcement of all content."
At the core of its multi-threat security solutions, Fortinet developed a unique technology platform Fortinet's FortiOS,
a proprietary security-hardened, purpose-built operating system, which coupled with Fortinet's FortiASIC processors
to help customers achieve extremely high throughput and exceptionally low latency. And we continue to develop new
version of security equipment to serve the critical needs of the market.
Recently, Fortinet introduced the FortiGate-3140B consolidated security appliance which is designed for large enterprises
and data centers requiring maximum firewall, virtual private network and intrusion prevention system (IPS) performance
to optimize protection against blended threats, destructive malware and constantly evolving attempts to breach security
in high-speed network environments. Equipped with the third major release of the FortiOS 4.0 MR3 operating system,
the FortiGate-3140B will feature active profiling for improved policy enforcement and flow-based inspection for superior
Web filtering and traffic shaping.
He added that "In Thailand, we have aggressive growth in enterprise market, thanks to our business partners and
distributors. Many large enterprise trust and use our security and web solutions including CAT Telecom and Nok Air. We
expect to have more large enterprise, network operator as well as telco segments."
